Learning Abroad

Giving your child the chance to learn English and improve their English speaking skills abroad is one of the best ways to improve fluency, confidence, and knowledge, with a whole host of other benefits. English summer schools are popular with parents all around the world, and here are a few reasons why.

Summer schools provide an intensive learning experience in a fun and sociable environment. It is common for children to get bored with attending weekly lessons and lose enthusiasm for learning English. A few weeks in a different country, where they are fully immersed in the language, will increase their passion for learning once again. The intensive experience means your child will get the benefit of months of regular lessons packed into two, three or four weeks - you save money and time while also giving your child a head start. English language skills are well regarded by admissions tutors the world over and will also improve employability as your child moves into his/her working life.

It is well known that the best way to learn a language is to be immersed in it on a daily basis. When attending summer school, your child will hear people speak naturally, watch TV and listen to music, read menus and signs whilst they are out and about, and speak with locals - all of which help facilitate the learning of a language and help it stick. Other benefits include developing social skills by meeting people from all around the world, learning to communicate successfully with people from different backgrounds, whilst also learning the importance of life skills such as self-reliance, listening, co-operation, and teamwork. In addition, UK summer schools provide a good base for exploring the UK outside of lessons. There are many cultural and entertainment attractions within easy reach, as England is a relatively small country with good transport links.
